Colima pyroclastic flow deposit

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Colima pyroclastic flow deposit
Pyroclastic flow front from September 16th 2005 eruption. Taken 3 days later about 2.5 km from the summit. Temperatures in places were over 200 C. The channel will likely have been a result of heavy rains incising into the soft material left by other, larger eruptions earlier in the year where material travelled much further down the volcano.
