| mattpayne11 | Outward Bound Couloir ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 25, 2009 | |
| I climbed this in conjunction with Kit Carson and Challenger Point. After coming over from Challenger, I hit Kit Carson and then down climbed towards the start of Kit Carson Avenue but instead went left towards Columbia Point. I went up a small gully and through a windowed rock and to the top of the Outward Bound Couloir. From here, I followed cairns to the very first gully that goes straight up the fin in between Kit Carson and Columbia Point. At the top of this fin I realized that I maybe went too high but stuck with the route and did some class 5 down-climbing to the next section of the fin and then up to the top of the fin where it connects to the actual mountain. From there it was relatively simply class 3 stuff similar to Crestone Needle. I was unable to locate the plaque on the summit. | ||

| SarahThompson | Outward Bound Couloir ![]() Date Climbed: May 11, 2008 | |
| Climbed via the OB Couloir from camp at Willow Lake. Nice, direct route. The scrambling between the couloir and summit was exposed and snowy so we protected it. Had a close call on the way down when deceiving snow conditions in the couloir led to a slight misjudgement. My axe was ripped from my hand by a hard layer of ice under the soft snow and I thankfully was able to retrieve it (it was tethered) and successfully arrest at high speed. There were rocks below that I would have hit but luckily all I suffered that day was an injured shoulder from having to arrest in the ice at high speed. | ||

| Gahugafuga | From S. Colony ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 13, 2008 | |
| A fun scramble. Bear further left toward the steeper part of the face for more interesting climbing. I thought the scramble from Pt 13290 to Bears Playground is a bit harder than advertised. Headed back over Kitty Kat Carson on my way toward Obstruction Peak. | ||

| miztflip | From Kit Carson ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 17, 2008 | |
| Climbed the N Ridge of Kit Carson and then on to Columbia and Challenger. Columbia is alot easier than it looks from Kit. It suprised me that I was the first to sign the log since November of last year. | ||

| boisedoc | this is a separate mountain? ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 4, 1989 | |
| dont think I knew this was a separate mountain on my way to Kit Carson and Challenger Point from the Bears Playground. It was a pretty eventful descent as I had an unintentional slide down a couloir from the Bears playground down to South Colony Lakes. | ||

| shanahan96 | all shuttles day ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 29, 2007 | |
| climbed columbia point after the two fourteeners west of it. columbia seems to hold an omnious presence from kit carson and it actually had me a tad worried. the class four climb at the bottom was wet and unnerving. after 30-40' vertical, everything was fine as the mountain stayed at class three without any spooky sections. looking down the outward bound couloir was cool; that couloir definitely jumped it's way up my list quickly! jamie | ||

| chicagotransplant | Kit Carson Sub Peak Day ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 29, 2007 | |
| Sort of a weird combination, climbed all of Kit Carson's subpeaks but not Kit Carson. Challenger Point, "The Prow", Columbia Point and "Kitty Kat Carson". For the ascent I dropped below the Kit Carson Avenue for 100'+ to a lower ledge that traversed around a tower. From above the ledge is pretty obvious. I then turned around the corner and ascended a steep 3rd Class gully to a notch that looked into the OB couloir. From here I followed the ledge system as it worked its way up to the summit. Actually climbed this one a second time a little later; as I was coming out of the ascent gully shanahan96 was heading over from Kit so I went back up with him. | ||

| Summit with Jim C. from South Colony, had a great day, battled plenty of rotten snow. We saw a wicked 2000 ft. point-release avalanche on the E Face that crossed our ascent path 90 min. after we were there. Whew! | ||
