This is a classic rock climb in the Vivian Quarry, Llanberis,Wales, UK.
It is graded at E3 5c and thought by many to be the finest climb in the quarry.
The slate quarries closed down in 1969 and at it`s peak employed up to 2,000 men.
Slate from the quarry was exported around the world from the small queyside village of Port Dinorwig near the Roman town of Caernarfon.
In the photograph is my friend Elfyn Jones. The vivian pool is now very buisy for Scuba Diving, the old buildings are the slate museum a must for any visitor.

Thanks, you have some great photos by the way, especially the climbing shots. There haven't been many photos of hard Welsh routes on here until now.
There's not many in's and out's here really - check out the FAQ for info. | | Posted Oct 16, 2009 3:00 pm |
