Hasn't voted | Thanks for the comment. There is a ferrata up from the left which is not too hard, and of course a choice of harder routes, like up the south face seen here. | | Posted Nov 7, 2008 4:39 pm |

Hasn't voted | Actually we have seen it with quite a bit of snow one day in July 2004, when it snowed down to 1700 m/5700 ft. | | Posted Nov 8, 2008 4:46 pm |

Voted 10/10 | I climbed it last year... nice point of view toward the Fanes group!
Even if the original "throne of God" in Dolomiti is the mount Pelmo.... ;) | | Posted Nov 10, 2008 8:17 am |

Hasn't voted | Yes, the view in good weather is very impressive all around from the top. As for 'Götterthtron' I got that from a guidebook (said about Sassongher). Pelmo is much higher and more impressive in a way, but there is no village where you can see it that close. | | Posted Nov 10, 2008 9:02 am |

Hasn't voted | Thank you. It is the closeness to the town that makes it so impressive. If you stood in Zermatt and made a similar wide-angle photo of the much taller Matterhorn, it would appear as just a remote pinnacle. | | Posted May 1, 2009 8:12 am |

Hasn't voted | Thank you, Kenzo. It is a photo I have been wanting to take for years, but it needed just the right weather and time of day. | | Posted Jun 12, 2009 5:17 am |

Voted 10/10 | Lovely way you have shown the mountain in the context of it's immediate surroundings Ejnar. Imagine waking up every morning and looking out of your window at that! | | Posted Nov 16, 2009 2:50 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thank you for the kind comment. Yes Sassongher can be seen from nearly everywhere in Corvara, and is one of our favourite Dolomite mountains. | | Posted Nov 17, 2009 5:54 am |
