Crestone Needle and Crestone...

Crestone Needle and Crestone Peak from mild Humboldt Peak. These two summits represent the heart of Colorado's Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Realy I would have gone on to climb them if a pesky marmot hadn't chewed off the ankles of my boots :) I now suspect they shall be eaisier then I anticipated. July 2001. Jon Bradford

The incident happened before I had made Sopris' aquaintence. She was probably only 4 months old at the time. I think she would alert me if a marmot grabbed my boots from the vestabul of my tent and started munching. As it was I awoke to gnashing sounds and tattered boots. I was glad I had duct tape in my bag though :)
