Thank you for your kind words. This photo would be a lot better if the Needle wasn't in a cloud shadow.

I can see how people would think the photos are tilted, but they're really not (as you know).



The upper Cottowood Creek drainage is very nice and doesn't get much traffic. The lower part of the trail was pretty brutal when we were there. Lots of tree trunks accross the trail, wet willow thickets, and some route finding confusion.



Pico Asilado is a fine peak with excellent views. If you do go, stick to the ridge (class 2-3) rather than attempting the central gully, which has a tremendous amount of loose rock.



I am hoping to get back to CO near the solstice, for an attempt of the Little Bear -> Blanca Traverse.
