Crossing "The Tarn"

I screwed up and stayed on Vivian Creek Trail too long; had to glissade (in running shoes, no less) down sandy runnel from Mineshaft Trail to The Tarn in order to tag Bighorn Mtn. Then traversed to Dragons Head. Beautiful day to escape the 100+ temps at home but murdered myself running the majority of Viv Creek Trail back to my truck - ouch! 27 Aug 09
