Voted 10/10 | You will notice a tall finger shaped rock in the lower middle right of this image. This is an important rock. The trail that you see to the base of the Caneleta is exposed to the winds here. They can be bitter and are in your face all the way along. This rock is the only wind break in this section of the traverse. Once you get up into the slope though the wind is less of an issue. Many is the time people have huddled behind this rock and warmed their face and hands before entering the last stage of the summit day.

Hasn't voted | Thank you. It was cold (-20° C) but the windspeed was not to high (i think nearly 50 Kilometer/hour). It was a breathtaking morning after sunrise. We start at Camp Cholera (5950m, near Camp Berlin). We had 20-30 Centimeter fresh snow at the afternoon before. At this day, it was too hard to reach the summit from Nido de Condores.
