The flowers were on tall stalks growing out of a low-lying mat of green? Looks like a type of buckwheat to me... Anyway, nice pic :)

Here's a very similar photo of a buckwheat growing on Bald Mountain in Sequoia National Forest, CA

Cgrisha, I propose you to contact with Mike (mrh in SP). He did some album with lilies, maybe it will be right way to detect this plant.

Tarol is right its definitely a buckwheat. Hard to tell from a photo which one (there are well over 100 species), but it looks like it may be cusion buckwheat (Eriogonum ovalifolium). Throughout much of the west, there are many varieties of that species.
