led the whole thing at 5.7, C1. the crack on the first pitch wasn't bad on aid, but the bulge to start P2 is a nightmare. drives me nuts....great summit, which we reached at sunset. rappelling into the darkness is a fantastic feeling.
This is the last of "smaller" spires in Arches NP that we wanted to do. Fun climb with a scenic approach hike. The rock is probably comparable in quality to Right Chimney on The Three Penguins (in other words pretty good by Arches standards) though still quite sandy of course. Aided the pitch 2 bolt ladder. Will try to post a TR from the whole trip.
