LOCATION: From along Costilla County 21 Road, about eight miles south of San Luis;
CAMERA: Olympus C-740 Ultra Zoom, 3.2 megapixel, 10x optical, 3x digital;
DESCRIPTION: An early-afternoon panorama of Colorado's southernmost and most controversial 14er.
FROM CENTER TO RIGHT: Culebra's west false summit is in dead center, while the ACTUAL summit is just right of center. UN 13,500' is the pointy peak that lies on the saddle connecting Culebra's actual summit and Red Mountain (13,908' - far right).
Here is a closer view (taken from the same location), as well as a reverse view, taken from the east side (near the village of Stonewall). Both hyperlinks are images from the Red Mountain page.
