David Nesbitt, a Remarkable Man

I met David when he interrupted his studies at Harvard to work as a technician for a year at the Max Planck Institut fuer Stroemungsforschung in Goettingen, Germany. Later were in Cambridge, MA when I took a post doc at MIT, and again in Berkeley when he did research at the UC. He ended up with a professorship at JILA in Boulder, CO. This was my second ascent of Mt. Shasta. The first time I climbed the Whitney Glacier route with Dr. John Birks who also had a professorship at the University of Colorado.
