Dawn on Tikhtengen (4610 m)

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Dawn on Tikhtengen (4610 m)
NE aspect. Note also the dome of Elbrus to the right of Tikhtengen, with the characteristic black streak of Akcheryakol Lava Flow.

The NE face of Tikhtengen has not been climbed to the best of my knowledge. The classic routes all went from Bezengi Camp over to Tsanner Glacier (to the left i.e. South of the summit), and up from there.

View from our high bivvy under the slopes of Shaurtu Peak. August 1987.

Thanks to you for the nice comment. Does it even matter if it was digital in the first place? It still needed to be digitized to be put on SP, and in fact quite heavily digitally processed (removing specks of dust, adjusting contrast, etc.) That's how today's technology should serve us - it should help us appreciate the beauty of the mountains :)
