I remember.....that it still looked so far away as we hit the saddle after the traverse along the eastern side of Swallow Rocks peak. Then we hit the 500 foot drop to the City Creek Saddle and I realized that we would have to gain that elevation again and then again on the way back. Yet, it was a day that I cherish as I never thought that at my age (71)I'd still be able to hike all day and have such great companions to do it with.

Re: I remember...That drop didn't bother me too much the first time, but yes, I was dreading it on the return. It was a great day, great friends, and long trails. Wouldn't have missed it!
