December 8, 2003. Moving up... | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
December 8, 2003. Moving up from Plaza Argentina to Camp one. The Polish Glacier looms above. Two days later after carrying loads to camp two, just below the glacier, a storm moved in and conditions were that we were tent bound for two days. The winds became the major issue destroying several tents at basecamp. Including several owned by mule operators. William Marler, Nikon Cool Pics 5000.

Hasn't voted | Thanks Craig. Yes I just got back last week. Just in time for a big snowstorm at home. Somehow I have a higher tolerance for snow on a mountain than in my own back yard. Have a happy holiday season. Cheers William | | Posted Dec 23, 2003 3:17 pm |

Voted 9/10 | I'm planning a trek on Aconcagua for this January (January 2011). The route that I am considering taking is the normal route. Were you about to hike up the gacier just behind you in the photo? | | Posted Nov 3, 2010 7:37 pm |

Hasn't voted | Hi no that is the Polish glacier. We camp just below it and traverse around to he other side. Then follow the normal route to the summit. Our route is called the polish traverse. Your is the routa normal or normal route and is on the other side of the mountain in this photo. Safe climb. Cheers William | | Posted Nov 4, 2010 7:23 pm |
