December Fools Day: 28 Dec (el Día de los Santos Inocentes). | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |||||||||
Yes, this is the Paso or Puente de Mahoma - the final few metres to the summit of Aneto, highest peak in the Pyrenees. And 2 days ago I was fooled into thinking there had been a rock fall that had made the paso (grade IIº scramble) to something much more serious. I had forgotten that 28th December is the April Fools Day in Spain (and other countries? I wonder if the tradition has the same or similar roots - I must Google this some more). Here's the info that had me fooled."New" Paso de Mahoma - sorry, seems you'll have to click on the left (orange text) and scroll down the page to see the handiwork of some photoshop fanatic... The link appeared on the "local" Pirineos3000 website and appeared to fool some others too! UPDATE. All is not lost. Were it true, sure the National Park would provide some "clavejas" or pegs or even a bridge. Sadly this link only takes you to the photo page. If you can see the shot by "pajarico" click on it. If not, too late. Anyway, thanks again, pirineos3000.com for this, it made my "fools" day! Comments [ Post a Comment ]
