December Fools Day: 28 Dec (el Día de los Santos Inocentes).

Yes, this is the Paso or Puente de Mahoma - the final few metres to the summit of Aneto, highest peak in the Pyrenees.

And 2 days ago I was fooled into thinking there had been a rock fall that had made the paso (grade IIº scramble) to something much more serious.

I had forgotten that 28th December is the April Fools Day in Spain (and other countries? I wonder if the tradition has the same or similar roots - I must Google this some more).

UPDATE. All is not lost. Were it true, sure the National Park would provide some "clavejas" or pegs or even a bridge. Sadly this link only takes you to the photo page.
