Deception Surprise Traverse

Part of the traverse between Mount Deception and Surprise Basin. This traverse covers about a mile of 40 degree loose scree and boulders. Ranger Bridgett is looking at Mount Clark in the Needles group which I am told has some very good crack climbing. Photographed at 6700 feet August 25, 2007.

I noticed some other photos calling it Clark but my friend who is a ranger was referring to the whole group as the needles. Thanks for clearing this up for me.
