Perhaps

It may be a Western Fence or Desert Spiny. It's kind of hard to tell for sure from the picture.
Either way, a nice guest to have ;)

I am going to go with Desert Spiny... Anya after reading the description....we feel like we know what Fence Lizards and they act different....thanks

This picture reminded me of saving a lizard at home that got stuck between a window and the window screen last summer. It was a small tree lizard. Poor thing must have been there for a long time because it looked so emaciated. When I let him out he looked at me for a long time before he sprinted off back to his world.

funny you should ask Jeannine, BJ ignores reptiles? weird eh? when we go examine a snake, he just stays back, no worries...good thing no doubt...of course the most a squirrel will get out of him now days is a very poor head fake...cheers
