'Desert Tortoise Delight'

Desert Dandelions (Malacothrix glabrata) are a food staple of Desert Tortoise. These were growing along the approach to Pyramid Peak. Lake Mead Area, Nevada. March 2008. The flowers of Desert Dandelions are yellow and have a red spot in the center when young. The red spot disappears as the flower ages.
