Mt. Mooselauke via Gorge Brook (lost GPS)

Spectacular day with great visibility - cloudless but cold. 3-4" of snow over ice. Wore Yaktrax but could have barebooted it to the summit as many did. Very windy on the summit - wind protection and warm layers essential. Left snowshoes at the car. Came down the Carriage Rd. and did the South Summit. Dropped GPS somewhere coming down from the South Summit. Learned later from some other hikers that it was picked up by two hikers who descended via the Glencliff trail. I made a valiant, but unsuccessful, attempt to catch up with them by re-climbing the Carriage Rd. trail to the junction and descending a good portion of the Glencliff trail.
