Diablo Canyon

Diablo Canyon
My wife shot this (while I was supposedly on belay) in Diablo Canyon on Winter Wall (Early Wall is reflected in his eye). She is the artist of the family and will do the abstract stuff with the camera. BJ is a poser, so my shots of him all look the same. I was jealous as she won the local pet photo contest with this pic which came with tons of goodies, for both dog and human. (will attach to the pet album). March, 2006

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
