The Akrotiri peninsula in the north of Chania? Never been there. On Google it doesn't look like gorge country...
There is a small little range on the N side with what looks like a huge gorge, well seen on this photo. The portal akrotiricrete.com says "Gorges of outstanding beauty offer a unique hiking experience", but I can't find their name.
