Dirk free-soloing the class 4 to easy 5 slabby section in the last pitch of Snake Dike. There is another 1000 vertical feet from here to the summit. June 2005.

Was there a forest fire in the background? You guys are nuts highballing like that. Ouch. Hurts just to look.

	Hasn't voted	No forest fire, just haze. It was a bit sketchy, you have to be really careful (have the crawling technique down). We wanted to save time since clouds were approaching.

	Hasn't voted	Thanks for noticing this pic! On that stretch I was more like crawling along than walking. I started walking only when the terrain flattened significantly.
