Discovery Peak

Discovery Peak

You may recognize this scene from Gary Suttle's book. Thought I'd include an up to date, color, high resolution version. For those of you who haven't read Suttle's book, Discovery Peak is the highest point in Alameda, CA. About 2 miles away from Rose Peak, at more than 3840'. It's about 1/2 a mile inside private property but seemed pretty accessible. Just a gently sloping hill only a couple dozen feet above neighboring hills, it doesn't have much of a view, but was a pretty special place to visit. This is what my friend told me, at least. He took the picture. I would never trespass.
