typical weekend in the gorge  Sucess!

Did it with two buddies that were in town from Denver. started out in the trees, then it got real cold as soon as we got out on the actual spine. Took the traditional approach up the scree field rather then the dead deer traverse. Had fun leading the 5.8 crack at the top as listed in "Gorge Classic Climbs" followed by a quick hike down. No one wanted to go down. All in all it was a great trip to the gorge. My first gorge classic!

Adventure Thrash climbing  Sucess!

Took a wrong turn atop the initial scree field and headed up the east side of the spine to run into two bears! Backtracked and found the correct route up. Couple short technical sections where we found the fixed pins. Terrific views atop the catwalk. Where is the summit register? :-) Late season seems a good time to go to avoid the poison oak. We seem to have been able to avoid most of it up there.

Great Climb!  Sucess!

My first trip to the top of Dog Mountain. After taking a peak at the regular hiking trail from the summit, I was definitely made aware that Brian chooses way more exciting routes! A great day, and so thankful to be invited! :)

Adventure climbing...  Sucess!

This was a fun day. Not knowing what to expect around each corner, over each rock, under each cliff, made this truly an adventure. Definitely not your typical Dog Mountain climb...
Next time though, Gotta tag the Dog's tooth.

Taming the Dog  Sucess!

Climbed with Karl and Colleen. Started out as a loose hike up through copious amounts of poison oak. Hit one short technical chimney (probably by choice instead of loose scrambling to avoid it) and lots of neat (but loose) exposed scrambling. Great views of the Gorge and once we topped out, wonderful walk through flowers. Heck of a workout with a fun group.
