Overview
Dom pod Storžičem is a Trailhead Mountain Hut standing North of Storžič, most popular both in the summer as in the winter season.
The main destination from Dom pod Storžičem (Hut/House below Storžič) is of course the Storžič north face, offering many alpinistic ascents - as well winter as summer climbs; and summer mountain-hiking activity, for instance 'Žrelo', considered 'very demanding' (the upper of the 3 grades given to mountain-hiking paths throughout Slovenia), marked, and secured with pegs and cables when necessary, or the N ridge (called Škarjev rob), part of the Mountain-hiking Transverzala/Traverse of Slovenia.
There are of course other destinations, for instance the 'Via Alpina', an international alpine path that drops by the hut, between the city of Tržič and the town of Jezersko.
In winter, many gullies on Storžič are attractive; and regulated sled(ge) rides below the hut as well.
The outdoor climbing wall at the back of the hut is maybe reserved for club purposes.

Getting There
The city of Tržič may mainly be reached along road E 652, from the North (Austria, Ljubelj/Loibl tunnel) or South (splitting N off autoroute E 61 along the Sava valley). Click the coords in the primary info for details.
In Tržič, split off the main road into the city, next following sighposts for: Jelendol, Čadovlje, Lom. Very soon split right towards Lom (signposted Lom, and Dom pod Storžičem). After Lom, continue following the signposts for Dom pod Storžičem, the road now soon macadamized.
