what an epic!

Wow! And cudos to your physis and nerves! I was more lucky 5 years ago - on a fine day, with dry rocks and reaching the cablecar 10 min before closing time.
some points that occur to me:
- the via ferrata grade system goes until E - and some more extreme routes are established currently
- Shouldn't the emergency Nr. 112 work on all cellphones alwaYs if therE is a net?
- I remember that the Alpspitz ferrate branches off before the summit of Alpspitze. We then avoided the summit to spare time.

Re: what an epic!

All good points, thanks.

- I edited the text to reflect that, I didn't know you could go up to E.
- my cell isn't picking up any network as soon as it is outside of Denmark, shows no connection even if I am in the middle of a big city. I will look into it, though, as I could see myself needing it one of these days.
- I noticed the branching but there wasn't any indication of where it was going (or I couldn't see it in the fog). Maybe I would have gotten the cablecar with it... At least my consolation prize is that I bagged Alpspitze :)

Nice report

Thanks for posting it, at least now I know I wasn't the only unlucky one. Last year we spent a week in the Mittenwald/Garmisch area waiting for the rain to stop to hike up the Alpspitze/Zugspitze and enjoy some nice ferratas, but without any luck :(

nice adventure

Wov, that was another route to put on the "must do" list!

Too bad about the weather but nice fighting getting through! Kind of reminds of my trip on Detmolder Weg near Hochalmspitze last autumn, where the ferrata route ended up like this:

I was lucky having more exit options on that route, than you did on jubiläum.

Living in Denmark, far from the mountains, I guess we sometimes tend to be somewhat less critical about weather conditions, because when we finally have time to go to the mountains, we really want to get to the top or get through the route, even though weather might be a little tricky.
