What a wonderful TR. Missed seeing it all this time. How accurately you describe the struggle! My wife and I had a route finding problem coming down from Mt. Henkel in Glacier NP early in our marriage in 1988, and since then she has referred to that experience using the name of another Glacier peak she saw on the map: Bad Marriage Mountain. But it also helped us realize that we can enjoy parts of a joint vacation separately as well as together. And it has been Good Marriage Mountain ever since.
Thanks, Stu. I like what you wrote about enjoying vacations separately and together. Nowadays, I get some climbing days all to myself, there are family days with the kids, and my wife gets days to herself.
