Climbed this one with a small group from SMG. Started at the base of the NW ridge and climbed over the snowshed tunnel. Picked a route and had a fun day on mixed snow, rock, and ice.
I love Donner Summit and was fortunate to be able to climb there about once a week all summer. Even did the highway 40 "climb" via road bike. Awesome descent!
First peak on way to Judah, Lincoln, Anderson, Tinker Knob from Donner Pass PCT TH. Took about 45 min - 1 hr. Nice view - no mosquitoes largely thanks to wind.
Lotsa fun! Now, the reason why I am broke and have a nice n' scratched-up rack in the gear room. WML, thanks for teaching the basics... Buzzed of course! RIP my poor whiskey flask :-(
One of my favorite playgrounds! Date Climbed: Mar 22, 2008
Forget how many times i've been here; one of my favorite areas in tahoe. Have rock climbed all over this peak and even the train trussle wall between tunnels off the North side near the bowl! Love it in the winter, have skiied into the bowl then snowshoed/skinned up to Judah then back to the parking area below the overlook lot multiple years. Someone left a nice kicker off the top of the center train tunnel roof drop-offs. Most air i've ever got followed by a drop down one of the gullies into the bowl. Awesome runs!!
