Down Damnation

Damnation Crack separates Jello Tower from Castle's main body on the N side, opposite Midway Chimney. It's 105 feet, with a sustained 5.9 start. Here's the experience from a poor sucker who can barely handle 5.9: Lieback your heart out, racing fatigue to that first bolt. Surprise! The crack edge rounds out just as you're straining for that precious first pro. Assuming you don't pancake, continue up with occasional footholds until you can climb into the somewhat flaring chimney here. Rest, climb, enjoy. It's been 20+ years since I led it (The pic is from a subsequent top-rope climb, after I grew a brain.), and I can still feel the desperation and the burn. About as much fun as a guy can have without dying.
