downclimbing the "3rd class" Thompson Ridge
Tim carefully downclimbing the acclaimed class 3 Thompson Ridge July 27, 2008. Moynier and Fiddler describe this as "a fun and classic route in its own right" but I seriously doubt neither of them have actually been on route. Michael Gordon describes the Thompson Ridge descent as "death-fall potential on a knife edge of horribly loose rock and scree." This is likely more accurate. I for one will never go back.
