| I was originally going to do Thompson but had to back down because of a forest fire. Rob and I combined with Splattski, Boisedoc, Alex and Steve to do this peak. The day started cloudy and cold but cleared off soon after we'd left the summit. We took a different route home and had a wonderful adventure. We also saw a goat near the saddle. | |

| The narrow glaciated valley between Hyndman and Duncan is a lesson in alpine geography. A blustery summit blew us all the way back down to the location of present day Pioneer yurt, the place I call Dry Lake. | |

| This is a long day but well worth it. The valley in between Duncan Ridge and Hyndman is incredible. The Wildhorse Fire was just starting up for the day as I crested the ridgeline. It was incredible to watch the helicopters take water from lakes below me and go drop it on the fire a 1/2 mile away. Not something you see everyday. Sean | |
