Remote area?

Dutch Flat Saddle is just a one to two hour hike on the Elkhorn Crest Trail starting at the trail head accessed by paved Anthony Lakes Hwy. The trail is about 24 miles in length and takes a couple of days to hike from Anthony Lakes on the north to Marble Creek Pass on the south.

Re: Remote area?

When a said remote area I was referring to the basin below rather than the Saddle. Yes, its not a terribly remote area, but there are very few of those in the Elkhorns. Its a long way to hike the entire Elkhorn Crest Trail, but the mountains and trail can be reached from numerous side points. Few areas are very far from a trailhead. Relative to many other areas, this basin takes a fairly long hike to reach.
