Skinned all the way to the summit from the ASARCO mine, then skied back down. Really fun tour, corn snow up high, with a little boilerplate for the lower half of the descent. 4.5 hours round trip.

We started at Lower Iowa Gulch trailhead, went up Dyer Amphitheatre to the saddle, then up Dyer's west ridge to summit Dyer. We then went down the east ridge, climbed the twin summits of Gemini and then Sherman. We descended to the Sherman - Sheridan saddle and then dropped back down to our start point.

Easy climb. Left the snowshoes and crampons in the truck at Iowa Gulch near the mine. (Used an axe during the descent occasionally, though.) Not much snow/ice yet. Took a short nap on the summit.

Dyer was a whole lot more inviting and fun than Sherman or Gemini. Thankfully, the snow was still sufficently hard enough so I didn't posthole (that much). Stellar views of Iowa Gulch and Leadville.

Layne Bracy and I had a pleasant hike up Dyer via the s.e. slopes. We were able to drive our cars up Iowa gulch to 11620' and could have gone farther. Dyer was too easy, so Layne headed to Gemini and I to Evans B. The wind kicked up ferociously and ate us for lunch. See the TR. 71/100 highest in CO for both of us.

Second time up Dyer, the previous week's storms left me with knee to waist deep postholing the whole way. I was hoping to go over to Evans B but the snow was taking too long and I had to get to work, bummer!

Climbed Dyer as part of a West Dyer to Sheridan traverse. The west ridge was certainly the highlight of the traverse. I thought it was fair to call the ridge 3rd class without descending much from the ridge proper, but there were plenty of fun 4th class to be found. I came across a few handholds that were on the loose side and one that was very loose. Getting down onto the small dirt-filled notch was interesting!

An Elk bugled when I stepped onto the trail in the morning. An elk bugled in the afternoon when I stepped off the trail and back onto the road. Never saw anyone that day; just heard the elk. Thanks.

One of my favorite Tenmile/Mosquito ridges. Don't forget to run up West Dyer, it's a great little summit and good views of the rest of the ridge.

Had to do this one solo as my climbing partner stopped before reaching the low point between Gemini and Dyer. (Smart!) The snow was deep and crested on the ridge. Looked dicey from a distance but was solid. Upper slopes of Dyer were completely snow covered and the wind was really blowing the snow around. Exhausting day, not too cold.

Fun Day with Eric Holle! Up Iowa Gulch to Dyer Ampitheatre, ascended over near w ridge, descended via glissade mid-face (more south). Knarly weather rolled in at top of amphitheatre, and lasted until 5 minutes after we made the summit. Then a beautiful day.

Climbed from Iowa Gulch and the Dyer Amphitheater with Timothy Pearl. Glissade descent. Crazy weather, fresh snow, sunny, blizzard-esqe, and then the weather cleared right after we got to the summit. We were provided with great views of Sheridan, Sherman and Gemini, as well as the picturesqe power-lines.

This is a really fun scramble route, stick directly the ridge crest for some nice class 4 gendarmes!

Climbed Dyer along with Gemini at night under clear skies. Seemed the most asthetic way to climb them with all the power lines up there.

Hiked to the head of the Iowa Ampitheater, then headed up to the south ridge. The south ridge was interesting (drifted and rocky) for the final 300 or 400 feet.

From the TH in Iowa Gulch I followed the road into the Iowa Amphitheater before angling up the mountain's slopes. I intersected the south ridge atabout 13,600', but almost any route will go on this side, as the rock is not very loose and is mixed w/ tundra. Although Dyer was my primary objective this day, this was one of the easier climbs I had done, and not being tired at all, my dog Logan and I continued over Gemini and Sherman, and down to iowa Gulch and our car from the Sherman/Sheridan saddle.
