Voted 10/10 | Why post it temporarily? Great shot! I don't know if I would have kept going if I would have seen clouds like that above- ominous-looking! Congrats on your ascent too, Samantha- saw your post in the summit register. | | Posted Jul 18, 2005 1:25 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks Dirk! Actually the weather was perfect the following day.
How was your weekend and what did you climb? Did you get Humphreys? Waiting to hear mountain adventures for those of us melting away in Sacramento. | | Posted Jul 18, 2005 3:17 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Got a late start on Friday (including locking the key inside the car in Oakdale :P ), pushing everything forward along with it. Started late Sat morning on Basin, but summited, getting back late. Was too beaten from that day to get the really early start to try Humphreys the next day & still get back to the Bay Area, so took it easy yesterday, climbing one of the Mono Craters (will put up the page soon), soloing Pothole Dome again, & dipping in Tenaya Lake. Great weekend overall! Wha'd you do? | | Posted Jul 18, 2005 3:45 pm |

Hasn't voted | Nice weekend sounds like! (Perhaps consider getting one of those credit card keys made for the rare instances of locking keys in the car. I once locked my keys in my car while the car was running!)
I am down for a few weeks after minor surgery on my arm. Right in the middle of climbing season. :( Did climb up Castle Peak early Sat. before it got too hot. :)
Swimming in the lake sounds perfect right about now. 108 in Sac. Congrats on Basin! | | Posted Jul 18, 2005 4:55 pm |

Hasn't voted | Hey ScottyS, I was thinking that this is probably the most obvious and common shot of Basin and I do not want to be redundant. Don't really think of myself as a photographer but am having fun w/ this digital camera my sister gave me this year. Now there are some REAL photographers on SP. I am not one of them. :) | | Posted Jul 18, 2005 3:28 pm |

Voted 10/10 | In my opinion, the shot isn't redundant because it shows the couloir in a different condition than the others. I would consider that useful info.
And anyway, it's a nice shot :)

Voted 10/10 | Sorry to hear about the surgery - hope it heals up well !
I was getting re-acquainted with my mountain bike ... heading off to Rainier tomorrow. Wish me luck (and good weather and healthy rope team partners :) | | Posted Jul 18, 2005 5:15 pm |
