The Kaysville Wilderness Area isn't particulary pretty (or tough, or interesting). It does however (heading north), connect up with the Bonneville Shoreline trail (about 1/2 mile) which will take you past Adams Canyon (about 2 miles), to the Kayscreek/Fernwood Trailhead (about 4 miles). From Kayscreek/Fernwood, you can access the Community trail to Layton peak (about 4 more miles to the top) or the Great Western Trail (about 5.5 miles to the top) to Layton Peak.
