Not bad for a use trail  Sucess!

As far as San Gabriels use trails go, this isn't bad (even has switchbacks!), but gloves are still a good idea for the crumbly bits. The brush clearance near the top has created a field of punji sticks - so tread carefully.

Nice overcast day to climb Hoyt  Sucess!

Big cairn pile near the top, couldn't find a register or marker...not sure if there is either

Short and steep  Sucess!

If you go down the west side and loop back up to the parking lot it's probably 3.5 miles or so. The trail is very neglected near the creek.

Great Views  Sucess!

Have climbed this ridge many times. Looking up the ridge from the parking area you can tell it's pretty steep so it probably doesn't tempt the hiker who just wants a moderate trail hike.
