Weird story, SP member cp0915 from Las Vegas started up the southwest ridge scramble route at a certain time.....SP member pvalchev and myself started up the east ridge at 4:30am....after 5700' accumulated gain, we arrived at the summit...I whipped out the cell phone to call cp0915 to see how close he was and hunkered down on the summit out of the wind...lo and behold as I hear the phone ringing...I actually hear cp0915's phone ringing as he arrived at the summit no later than 5 minutes from when we did....both doing well over 5000' in gain, two completely different routes....3 SP members enjoying the summit together...wild.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
