Eastern Flank and snowfields of Carstensz Pyramid (Puncak Jaya) region

The snowfields of Carstensz Pyramid (Puncak Jaya) in the background some distance away on a relatively clear day.
Access to the mountain is along the ridge in the foreground of the photo with this ridge generally sweeping around to the right for several kilometres to the small mountain in front of Zagham where the climb begins. I cut a path with my well used machete along this ridge in 100% humidity often in cloud and heavy rain after about midday.
