Edurne Pasaban

Edurne Pasaban (born August 1, 1973, in Tolosa, Spain) is a Spanish mountaineer. As of July 13, 2007, she is the second woman, after Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, who has climbed nine of the fourteen eight-thousanders:
She summited on Broad Peak July 12, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. local time, only one hour before Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner did the same. (Which made it Kaltenbrunner's tenth eight-thousander. Both seem to downplay the aspect of a race between them for the first woman to climb all eight-thousanders.)
She is only the third woman currently alive that has climbed K2 (the others being Nives Meroi and Yuka Komatsu). She partially lost several toes to frostbite.
