Eiffel Tower

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Eiffel Tower
June 24, 2006, Banff National Park, on ascent of Pinnacle Mountain

The Eiffel Tower as seen from the Eiffel-Pinnacle col. A tower at 10,000' in the Canadian Rockies that remains un climbed by anyone's recollection. This is an area of many features, thus why Pinnacle Mountain was named. I will be climbing the Grand Sentinel on June 28, 2006 which is a 1000' feature on the north side of this col.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
