That is

no crow but an "Alpendohle" (Alpine jackdaw) as shown by its yellow beak and red legs. They do get very tame, as they are used to getting fed by climbers, but I have never had one sit on me! (If you were very still, perhaps it thought that you were dead, they will begin eating any dead body they find, which made them very unpopular before the age of helicopters!)

I saw on a separate post (not sure if it was here or elsewhere) that it was not a crow... I made a title just for the name of the mountain, though, you are correct, I used wrong on the species. But, Alpendohle on Krahe doesn't have the same ring! hahaha.

I was not very still, but I was enjoying lunch, which the bird had hoped to enjoy along with me. The previous day on Rote Fluh, one of these birds stole my cheese when I wasn't looking. Perhaps word traveled quickly among the Alpendohle that I was an easy mark? :) Either way, I'm glad he did not decide I was dead!
