Emerald Lake, Dawn
Timpanogos Wilderness, UT-- July 2002

The Timpanogos "Glacier" is visible is well, and the glacier can be combined with the standard route (Class 1+) up Timpanogos to make a fun loop from Emerald Lake. Reaching Emerald Lake requires about 3.5 miles of steep hiking on a trail that's about as scenic as any you will ever find; it's so beautiful that you find yourself stopping often enough that the steepness of the climb doesn't really bother you too much.
