Empress Mountain, Todd Creek Route

At one time this was a road that went up the Todd Creek Valley to the west of Empress Mountain. Many stretches, such as this one, are eroded away to little more than a rough track and, after rain, form an alternate river bed for nearby Todd Creek.

There...

are some old roads that I hike in the Southern Appalachians that have become streams. And not just during rainstorms, but year-round.
