Escape Route from North Klondike Couloir
Should conditions warrant an escape from the snow climbing in North Klondike Couloir (for example, I had an ice axe but no crampons and couldn't make the final very steep stretch without them), this section on the right side of the couloir near its upper end holds many Class 3 options. In the middle of the couloir, where it is also narrowest and quite steep at times, the escape options are Class 5. I exited above this point, maybe about 50 vertical feet below the cornices.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."   --Calvin Coolidge
