Edward and I summitted on a very nice day. About 5 hours RT. A lot of huckleberry bushes on the way up but not too thick. We felt the farthest south rock bump was the highest point.

I crashed my motorcycle 8 days ago. This is the 2nd hike to get my knee moving again. Very sweet views of Kyes and Sloan. Heather Anderson joined me.

I was a little skeptical when this scramble was described as a no-hands class 1, but that's exactly what it is. I caught it in perfect conditions - the trail was almost snow free, but the off trail portion was covered with snow that had just the right amount of give. Enjoyed the sunrise just above the cloudtops. I found the best views, IMHO, at N47 54.872 W121 17.266 (200+ degree west through east vista).

This is a fairly tame peak that was about what I was looking for on a mediocre weather day.

Not knowing what to expect, I had been saving this peak for rainy day. We did not encounter rain during the hike, and the peak was much more enjoyable and straightforward than I would have guessed. Fresh cougar tracks were seen heading down the mountain from near the true summit. A lot of snow walking, but no avalanche danger on the standard route. Clouds from an approaching storm system ruined views from the summit, except for very brief views of Kyes Peak, Storm Ridge, Bald Eagle Mountain, and West Cady Ridge. Overall, it was a good choice for a summit, especially for the conditions. Great for all hiking skill levels.
