Wonderful day out with the dog  Sucess!

Spotted this mountain while on Crown the weekend before and thought it looked do-able for my dog. Wonderful day out. The waterfalls were big and flowers were abundant.

Great Hike  Sucess!

This is a great hike. Waterfalls to start and then a profusion of wildflowers. We opted for the second gulch approach. At the bottom of this gulch there is an obvious cow path on the right hand side. It fades out in a few spots but you can follow it all the way up to the saddle. From there we headed directly for the summit but had to work around a few deep snow drifts. The views from the top were of endless snow covered peaks. We saw 20+ bighorn sheep below in the saddle NE of the summit.

Please note: The road beyond the Forest Service facility gets a bit rough, doable in a truck, sketchy for a car. The stream crossing at the very start of trail 204 is unbridged. The stream was high due to runoff so we were glad we had our wading shoes along !

Nice Hike  Sucess!

Great hike on a nice day, although approaching thunderstorms chased us off the summit earlier than we'd have liked. Got just a bit of rain as we reached the plateau, but it was sunny again by the time we hit the trailhead.
