Comanche Peak - Point 12,716 - Fall Mountain
Climbed all three with my girlfriend Meghan from the Emmaline Lake/Mummy Pass Trailhead. Visited both summits of Fall Mountain, although my watch altimeter said that the west summit was higher. The dropoffs on the north side of Fall Mountain were spectacular.

From Commanche Peak
After climbing Commanche Peak from Corral Creek TH, I decided I had enough left to hike over to Fall Mountain. I then hiked down to Mummy Pass and back to the trailhead. The weather was beautiful that day.

From Corral Creek Trailhead
We hiked up to Mummy Pass from the Corral Creek Trailhead then up the south east ridge of Fall Mountain. From Fall we traversed to Comanche Peak and back to the Corral Creek Trailhead via Mirror Lake.
Route Climbed: Mummy Pass Trail to Fall Mtn Date Climbed: November, 2002
We parked at some trailhead (Mummy Pass?) in Pingree Park & simply went straight for the NE shoulder of Fall Mtn, following that to the summit. After summiting, we followed the ridge of the cirque west while scouting for coulior and/or ice climbing potential (and there is much of it by the way!). We hit the summit of Comanche and then took no particular trail down, but rather followed the creek back down to the car.
**Note of caution - This area of Roosevelt NF is seasonal home to many hunters in the fall. To best preserve your life, know when their season starts & stops. We learned the hard way by breaking trail during bow hunting season. The hunters we encountered were not happy with us, as we effectively spooked any would be kill out of the area!
The first peak that I climbed with my wife - future wife at the time. Part of a long cross country trek. It is a beautiful viewpoint.
We did not use much of the trail, but rather went cross country from Pingre Park and climbed the prominent ridge between the cirque directly north of Fall Mountain and the cirque containing Emmaline Lake - then followed the top of the cirque around to the summit of Fall Mountain.
Route Climbed: Emmaline Lake Trailhead via Comanche Peak Date Climbed: October 4, 2003
A great fall day for a fun hike. I hiked up Emmaline Lake Trail past Emmaline Lake to the summit of Comanche Peak. Then I swung around to the south and bagged Fall Mountain on my way to hooking up with Mummy Pass Trail and heading back to the car. What a great loop hike and the views of the Mummy Range and Never Summer Range were amazing!
