Fallen Pedestal Log, Blue Mesa, Petrified Forest National Park

In this image of Blue Mesa in Petrified Forest National Park, AZ, note the log on the ridgeline to the right of center. In 2005, another, larger section of log to the left in the image fell down. Before its demise, it was one of the most photographed features within the park. The remnants of that log are seen below the ridgeline. Imaged in December 2009.

Thanks for the comment, TyeDyeTwins. It is a neat place to visit. Next time I'm going to camp in the backcountry. This time I had too much expensive camera gear and the softtop on my Jeep, so was reluctant to leave it unattended over night. --mark d.
