Fastag Valley Camp, Digoria

Fastag Valley Camp, Digoria

Spring travel in the Caucasus - in the season of glide avalanches - means starting in the wee hours and stopping soon after the Sun is out. Kind of relaxing. The Sun is still low in the South-East and the Moon still up but we are done for the day. May 1980

Re: Great Colors

Thanks Tanya! As I recall this spot was soaking wet with snowmelt runoff - but a beautiful bivvy place nonetheless :)

Brrrrrr!!!

I get the feeling that you like things COLD! I almost had to bivy on Lava Falls in December. I would not have been a happy person. How did you end up staying an unplanned night?

Re: Great and

Thanks Yatsek :) You know, some of these slides were shared with friends, and I am no longer sure that this one was shot by Smena (Up in the Arctic tundra, I would know for certain, because I would have been one and the only photographer LOL). Still the scan needed a lot of digital touch-up!

EDITED: actually I know that this was someone else's shot, cuz on that trip I was shooting B&W for the official Trip Report. I wish I could still find those negatives!

Re: Great and

Smena, Zenit, Fed (do I remember well?), whatever it was, the scene was worth capturing and the scan was worthy of all that invisible touch-up
